Residential Interiors in Cocunut Grove, Miami, by United Architects

The client wanted an elegant design and something original.  He originally wanted 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a powder room, a family room, dining room, kitchen and 2-car garage. 

The design we gave him is Miami Mediterranean Architecture, and at the same time is modern with clean, graceful lines.  Four of the bedrooms and three baths we located upstairs for the family.  The original idea of having a bedroom and a powder room downstairs did not make much sense.  We, as well as his real estate agent, convinced him that a house this size needed a maid's room with its own bathroom.  He agreed to the program change and the downstairs included the maid's room and bathroom as well as all the public spaces.  The two-car garage faces Coacoochee Street in Coconut Grove.  This street is the less traveled street and more appropriate for entering and exiting.

The railings inside the house we designed to match the railings on the second floor balconies.  This gave continuity to the design.

The master bedroom has exposed wood, vaulted ceilings.  The master bedroom, kitchen, and family room overlook the pool.
